Major Ivo King Sr., 78, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Burial will follow at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro with full military honors.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. King was born in Alabama to the late Charlie and Renola Stafford King.  He was retired from the United States Air Force.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Bertha Miller King; one son, Major I. King Jr. and wife Monika of Goldsboro; three daughters, Gabrielle K. Blount and husband, Edward of Goldsboro, Yvette E. DeBlanc and husband, Gerald of Texas and Zinita C. Fraiser and husband, Darrell of Germany; one brother, Emmanuel King and wife, Barbara of Alabama; one sister, Daisy Martin and husband, Jerry of Alabama; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
