Lillie Georgiana Benton

Lillie Georgiana Benton of Dudley went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York on her 71st birthday.

Homegoing service will be Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Goldsboro.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss Benton was born in Johnston County on February 27, 1947 to the late Alton and Cassie Jones Benton.  She attended St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ.

She leaves to cherish her memories one brother, Carl Benton of New York; one sister, Joyce Peterson and husband, Richard of Richmond, Virginia; special niece, Sharon Harris of New York; special nephew, Anthony Benton and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and special friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Benton and a sister, Mae Benton.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
