La’Toya Denise “Pooh” Taylor called Jesus on September 17, 2016 to rub her back and He answered her call.  After spending her final days doing something she loved, driving her mother around finding grocery deals. 

Toya’s life would seem short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.  Her gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around.

Homegoing services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. Viewing will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

La’Toya Denise Taylor was born June 29, 1981 to Jessie Waters Carmichael and Lemuel Raynor of Wayne County.  She graduated from Goldsboro High School with the class of 1999.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother Jessie Waters Carmichael, father Lemuel (Henrietta) Raynor of Goldsboro NC; sister Terra (Gregory) Spratley of Greensboro; brother David Brewington of Raleigh NC; two step-sisters Ashley Hooker of Greenville, SC and Marquita Hooker of Goldsboro; three step brothers Blane Hooker of Greensboro, NC, Octavis Sanders of Dudley NC, Edward Lofton of Dallas, TX; Adopted Grandmother Elizabeth T. Gibbs of LaGrange NC; Adopted sister Tonya Smith of Washington DC; three uncles, eight aunts, one great uncle, three great aunts and a host of loving cousins, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends other times at the home of her mother, 413 Gulley Street in Goldsboro.
