Kurt David Russell, 59, departed this walk of life Sunday morning, March 11, 2018 at his home.
Kurt was born in Maine on December 14, 1958 to the late George E Russell and Evelyn Moon Russell.
Kurt loved helping people, he was always ready to do what they needed when they needed. He loved his family and friends. He loved his customers he deliveried gas to. He liked to save things for later use. When he was not working or helping someone, he was on his tractor. He enjoyed his time at breakfast with Wilson clan and friends. He enjoyed picking on people especially the Wilson girls. He never complained thru his sickness, he just wanted to live his life.
He attended Gateway Community Church in Pikeville when his illness permitted.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Brady Russell; three brothers, Tim Russell and wife, Lee Ann of Virginia, Paul Russell and wife, Jill of New Jersey and Kevin Russell and wife, Susan of Virginia; two sisters, Teri Krach and husband, Joe of Ohio and Julie Kenville and husband, Michael of Nevada; his father-in-law, Sam Brady of Goldsboro and his brother-in law, Scott Brady of Raleigh. Also he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and of course his dogs, Sadie and Abby.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his mother-in law, Sylvia Brady.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 15, 2018 at 6 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home in Goldsboro. Pastor Thayer Stamper will officate. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
