Edward Lee Edmundson, 77, of Fremont went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, February 1, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The family will celebrate his homegoing and his 78th birthday Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont with Dr. Don Sauls officiating.  Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Edmundson was a native of Wayne County born on February 3, 1938 to the late William Henry and Rachel Dawson Edmundson. 

He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Paul and husband, Joey of Fremont and Linda Edmundson of Clayton; three brothers, Kenneth Edmundson of Goldsboro, Gene Edmundson and wife, Jenelle of Warsaw and Oscar Edmundson and wife, Diane of Florida; one sister, Doris Gurganus of Black Creek; two grandchildren, Shayne Paul and wife, Emily and Franki Paul Sasser and husband, Justin; one great-grandchild, Fynleigh; sister-in-law, Pat Edmundson of Pikeville and brother-in-law, Earl Mumford of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Edmundson was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Loraine Edmundson; one brother, William Edmundson; two sisters, Marie Mumford and Elizabeth Baker and his beloved pet, “Buddy”.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
