David Robert Granger, 72, passed away Tuesday, August 08, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mr. Granger was born in Minnesota on May 09, 1945 to the late Duane James Granger II and Patricia Mary Callahan. He is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and retired as Sergeant Major and served in the Army Intelligence.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Granger; one son, David James Granger and wife, Nicole of Pennsylvania and one daughter, Susan Bradley and husband, Tracy of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Bruce A. Granger and wife, Kathy of Minnesota and Jim Granger and wife, Julie of Minnesota; two sisters, Colleen L. Engman of Minnesota and Patricia E. McLaughlin of Minnesota and four grandchildren, Megan, Kendell, Trenton and Allison.

In addidtion to his parents, Mr. Granger was preceded in death by two brothers, William J. Granger and Dale G. Granger.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
