David Charles Greene, 54, of 321 Miller Avenue, Goldsboro was called to duty for the Lord Friday, January 19, 2018 at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro.

Mr. Greene was the son of the late Charles and Beverly Strickland Greene.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Edwards Greene.  He was the proud father of three daughters, Karen J Greene, Shayla D. Greene and Andreah M. Greene; four sons, Isaiah T. Greene, Dameon C. Greene, Kevin D. Greene and David S. Greene, all of the home; his step-mother, Barbara Jean Greene of Goldsboro, N.C.; five sisters, Stacy Greene, Tanger Newman, Tereena Jackson, Keisha Greene and Karen Little; eleven brothers, Adrain Greene, Bobby Greene, Richard Greene, Eugene Greene, James Greene, Edward Jackson, Andrew (Dedra) Jackson, James Jackson, Steven Little, Christopher Whittington and Chester (Chystal) Jackson; several aunts and uncles including Lois (Ben) Reid, Mary Reid of Pikeville, N.C.,  Lawrence (Margie) Greene of Fayetteville, N.C., the family of HOPE Services International, (Hearts of HOPE); God-parents, Dr’s. Larry (Gloria) Cain, three God-brothers, Andre Taylor, Robert Taylor and Larry Nathan Cain; in laws, Curtis (Thelma) Mouzone, of Wilson, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Shirley E. Barr of Wilson, N.C. and Addie Edmundson-Stewart (Louis) of Black Creek, N.C.; a special friend, James Rowe and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Burial will follow at Golden Gate Memorial Cemetery in Pikeville.  Visitation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the family present from 6 until 7 p.m.
