Pikeville- Benjamin Ray Pitt, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, January 09, 2017 at his home.

Homegoing services will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.  Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.  Viewing will be held prior to the service from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Pitt was born in Wayne County on September 04, 1947 to the late Benjamin and Marie Armwood Pitt.  He was a member of Elm Grove Church in Pikeville.  Mr. Pitt was also a member of Big James Barrett and the Golden Jubilees.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Priscilla Pitt; one son, Ray Pitt of Raleigh; one step-son, Chesley James of Fayetteville; one step-daughter, Geneva James of Greenville; one brother, Nevaro Pitt and wife, Tory of Boston; four sisters, Linda Reid of Pikeville, Tonya Forte' and husband, John of Kentucky, Tammy Croom of Pikeville and Barbara Mincey and husband, Harold of Wilson; a sister-in-law, Paula Spann and two brothers-in-law, Donald Stallings and Jimmy Parks.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pitt is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Lewis Pitt; one brother, Jerry Pitt; two sisters, Sharon Diane Stallings and Norma Lois Parks and a brother-in-law, Jack Reid.

Services have been entrusted to the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
