Belle Cates Padgett, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Brookdale Berkeley Boulevard in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina.
Mrs. Padgett was born in Harnett County on September 15, 1930 to the late Frank Fuller and Nila Byrd Cates. She was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church and a previous member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan P. Walls and husband, Bobby of Rosewood and Terri P. Massey of Clayton; one brother, Jerry Cates and wife, Helen of Tennessee; two sisters, Ruth Beck of Raleigh and Diane Kiel and husband, Steve of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Jason Walls and wife, Cari-Ann and Julie Jones and husband, Wesley; four great-grandchildren, Kate and Abby Jones and Preston and Palmer Walls.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by her husband, Hue Fredrick Padgett.
