Barbara Marie (Lassiter) Bissette

Barbara Marie Lassiter Bissette, 70, of Belfast went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Willow Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Goldsboro.

A graveside service to remember her life will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Mrs. Bissette was born in Wayne County on July 20, 1947 to the late Raymond Coker and Dorothy Ham Lassiter.  Her home church was Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served in many capacities including church organist, pianist, choir member and the Ladies Auxiliary.  She was retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital as a nurse.

She is survived by her loving son, Donnie Ray Bissette Jr. “D.J.” and wife, Elizabeth of Kenly and two nephews, Randy Pate of Patetown and Eddie Pate of Belfast and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bissette was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Ray Bissette and her sister, Peggy Davis.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
